Black AR-15 Receiver Spur.
The New York State SAFE Act states that a "pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon" is one of the characteristics that defines a rifle as an assault weapon. If this is the sole characteristic that defines your AR-15 as an assault rifle, the AR-15 Receiver Spur remedies the issue.
This inexpensive, easy to assemble, durable modification removes the AR-15 rifle from this definition. With the AR-15 Receiver Spur modification the rifle is a semi-automatic rifle with the ability to accept a detachable magazine only.
The Spur is NOT a grip. It does NOT allow for a pistol style grasp, nor does it protrude conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon. The unique design of the AR-15 Receiver Spur will NOT allow the web (the area between the thumb and index finger) of the trigger hand to be placed below the top exposed portion of the trigger while firing.
